Re-visiting Gallipoli, 1934 April 24, Hull Daily Mail
Organised by the Royal Naval Division Association, a party of survivors of the Gallipoli campaign and their friends, left on the Duchess of Richmond last Friday for a cruise to the scene of those disastrous operations.
I learn that among the passenger list there are several local names, among them being Captain and Mrs R. Ford. Captain Ford is an elder brother of Hull Trinity House, and a member of the Humberside Conservancy Board.
It is interesting to recall that he commanded the M.F.A Dago, attached to the Eastern Mediterranean Squadron for more than three years during the naval operations in those waters, and doubtless the captain is keenly anticipating his return under peace-time conditions to the scene of former activities under less settled circumstances.
